Taipei City Government Tourism Marketing and Promotion in the Japanese Market

The "Taipei Misses You" marketing concept spanned borders before and after the border opening.
A series of Japanese marketing campaigns with flexible, convertible strategies.

Setting the tone of the campaign with "Taipei Misses You," this project spanned the times before and after the opening of borders following the pandemic. We launched a series of Japanese marketing campaigns with flexible, convertible strategies. In line with the reopening of national borders, we implemented segmented publicity starting internally with Japanese travel agencies in Taiwan. Simultaneously, more than 100 operators were invited to the Taipei New Tourism Forum for the post-pandemic era, and through in-depth analysis, post-pandemic trends of international tourism were approached. Active communication methods were used to create resonance and common feeling over post-pandemic tourism, meeting the broad needs of domestic and foreign tourism operators in the Japanese market.

After the border was opened, we immediately launched a number of international publicity initiatives in sync with the international world, packaging and marketing the initiatives with different distinct themes. These initiatives took place at the Taiwan Festa in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park in July, the Hirosaki Neputa Festival in August, Taiwan Plus in Tokyo's Ueno Park and the JATA Travel Exhibition at Tokyo Big Sight in September, and the Matsuyama Autumn Festival in October. Through these events, we took the first step to successful international promotion through real participation!
